The servers run a program called "AtomTime", it checks the time against a US
government time-server and ajusts it if it differs.
And offcourse only TCP/IP is present.

You're missing ntpd. Any DNS should be running that.
What about the protocols? You should be only running TCP/IP (well really
IP).
