	If you're running BIND 8 (presumably BIND 9 with multi-threading 
disabled will do the same), then yes -- when the server is being 
loaded or reloaded, it will not be answering any other queries.

	This is one of the many reasons why you should have at least one 
reliable secondary (a.k.a., "slave") nameserver.


	Please keep in mind that most ISPs/ASPs will provide this 
service, usually for no additional fee (you're already paying them 
money for the IP address, hosting services, etc...).  If that is not 
sufficient and you have five or fewer domains with a total of 100 or 
fewer records, you can always sign up for free secondary nameservice 
via secondary.com.
