A copy of the errors would help.

This version has know security issues. Try 8.2.4 or 9.1.3.

Possibly BIND needs....

transfer-format one-answer; // Work with old BIND and NT  

Affects zone transfers over 16K bytes in size, the error is
fairly descriptive (well it is with BIND 9), in that BIND should
complain that W2K isn't ready to accept the later parts of the
answer. This is because W2k DNS doesn't implement relevant RFC.
