What does your db.cache file contain?  The real Internet root servers
(*.ROOT-SERVERS.NET) or sun-hbd-dds1.paris.cnp.fr and janus.paris.cnp.fr?

If you have forwarding enabled, what happens if you query the forwarder for
the root NS records, i.e.

dig @<forwarder> . ns

>Oct 30 12:46:39 sun-bea-dds1 named[19274]: i_sysop: no addrs found for root
>NS (
>sun-hbd-dds1.paris.cnp.fr)
