you can upgrade to 9.x, but it will probably be installed in
/usr/local/* instead of /usr/* - so you will have to rename or remove
the old binaries so that they don't take precedence.

if you use cvsup at all (i'm guessing not since you run 3.2), but if you
do, put 
NO_BIND=       true

to avoid upgrading bind if / when you upgrade your base system.

i would suggest installing one of the 9.2 release candidates and
installing from source (which is really easy and should compile
perfectly on bsd) as opposed to from the ports.
