SRV as NS replacement

That would involve changing the DNS protocol so that all the world's
name servers followed SRV records instead of NS records. This isn't
going to happen because there are zillions of old name servers that
don't even understand SRV records. And if you consider how often
DNS admins screw up their NS records, imagine the hassles there will
be if the more complex SRV records were use instead. Or as well as.

BTW, please don't submit postings with incorrect email addresses. The
comp.protocols.dns.bind newsgroup is gatewayed into a mailing list.
Supplying unreplyable email addresses only annoys anyone who takes the
trouble to reply to you. It does not prevent or reduce spam.
