NS record question

I've have tried to stay out of this discussion, but I can't help myself
(forgive me!).

I, personally, will consider BIND-9 ready for production server use
when the root name servers are also using it. I figure that they know
what their requirements are, including security, performance, and
managability. I figure that my server requirements, other than
performance, can't bee too different than theirs.

As long as the root name servers are still using BIND-8, I believe that
I can't be too far wrong sticking to the same version.

I understand that BIND-9 ***IS*** the future, and I have already set it
up on a NON-production name server. Also, I really like some of the
features - such as "rndc". But, these features do no qualify as
requirements! For now, BIND-9 will NOT be used for production services.

Give us a break with your implications that BIND-9 is the ***ONLY***
server to use.
