Multiple instances of named-xfer.exe causing 100% CPU usage i n sl ave server.

It is turned on by default, so I assume that I have it turned on, but why is
this happening if I am not changing anything on my master server?

Do you solve the problem turning off NOTIFY? How do you replicate changes to
your slave servers? manually?

Regards,

Do you per chance have NOTIFY turned on? We just got bit big time yesterday
by this similar problem on our unix boxes. We determined that with notify
turned on that our secondaries were spending most of their time(cpu, memory,
etc) working on zone transfers and not being able to efficiently handle
client queries.

Hi there,
I just upgraded my 2 BIND servers yesterday from 8.2.3 (NT) to
8.2.4, the master server is working fine but in the slave server named.exe
is using just 20% of the CPU time and the named-xfer.exe is launching up to
20 instances each consuming in average 3-4% of CPU time causing the
processor to run away to a 100% usage,

I dont get any errors in the event viewer.

Any ideas why this is happening?
