Error messge when sending maill to outside domain

Hi
Can anyone let me know why i get the following message
when trying to send mail to a hotmail account using
internal SMTP+POP server and internal DNS server.

-The following addresses had permanent fatal
errors----
<xyz at hotmail.com>
