A windows 2000 server (and workstation as well) always tries to register
it's own name dynamically into DNS. Your DNS server is not configured for
dynamic updates so it denies the update request and logs it. You can
disable this behaviour of W2K if you want to, by going into the IP config of
your W2K server (in the network, go to something called advance TCP/IP
settings) and on the DNS tab there is a checkbox 'register this connection
in DNS' or something like that, if you disable that one the dynamic
registration will stop. I'm sorry to not be more specific, that's because I
don't have access to this right now, but I'm sure you'll find the option.

Mind you, Windows 2000 needs some very special DNS records to operate, and
to facilitatye logins and stuff. Microsft has made DNS into a christmas tree
for W2K ;-) I guess if you only have one server this is not an issue, as
long as you run WINS on the server. On the Microsoft website (or search
google) you can find some information on W2K and DNS and how to interoperate
with Bind.

Hope this helped.
