Yes, get that external server to be a slave for your example.net and
10.in-addr.arpa zones. You could also try zone-specific forwarding. ie
By configuring that server with forward type zone{} statements for
these zones, but this is disgusting. Forwarding name servers are
usually a BAD idea.
