nslookup issues on hp-ux

Hi all,
I just upgraded to 8.2.3 and distributed the new nslookup. The previous
nslookup was the one that came with HP-UX and looks at the nsswitch.conf
file to decide where to lookup from. The new binary doesn't go there, it
goes straight to DNS. I ran tusc to trace the old and new nslookup
binaries and sure enough, the old one does an open() call to
/etc/nsswitch.conf but the new one doesn't even look. This is a problem in
our environment because we will always have certain entries only in
/etc/hosts rather than in DNS. Am I going insane, or did I miss a
configuration switch when I compiled? Has anyone else run into this? I
would appreciate any help. I have been digging through the code for days
trying to figure out what I did wrong.

Thanks,
