Mac addresses

Is there anyway to find the mac address of a emote machine based solely off
the ip address? Used nmap to get a list of running servers and found some I
had never heard of before. Is there anyway to pull Mac or Os software from
these if finger is not running?
Need to configure dhcp to tie into dns and need mac addresses for that.
