Bind 9.1 on Slackware 7

G'Day All,

I have just upgraded my slackware box from 8.2.2p5 to 9.1.0.  
Upon modifying the prefixes (heavily) in the configure string, it 
installed.  I've modified a bunch of things in the zone files including 
the TTL's to get rid of any errors and it starts (all zones load no 
prob's and named is working), but i keep getting the following when 
i ndc start or restart etc. :

# ndc restart
ndc: error: name server was not running (warning only)
ndc: error: name server has not started (yet?)

but it is actually running.....any ideas ?

Also, anybody be able to tell me how to stop it dns'ing on every ip 
address on the box ?

Newbie questions i know, but i'm fairly new to this...
