How to configure a sub-domain?

OK, I hadn't gotten that from the post to which I responded.  I guess
you were building on the original posting.  Thanks for the clarification.

I think we're all agreed that, except for some minor cases, the best
way is to have a separate zone for a large child domain, and make sure
that both zones have the NS and A records for all of the child domain's
peer name servers.

The other way will not work for BIND 9.  I don't remember whether it
works for the last BIND 8.
