This depends on the registrar. Some of them will test your nameserver first; others will just trust whatever information
you give them.

Reverse DNS is generally not handled through "registrars", _per_se_ but delegated from the RIR's (like ARIN or RIPE) to
individual network providers and/or ISP's. Therefore you may have to deal with a different organization than your domain
registrar in order to get it to work.
