Stupid question

DNS servers chache there information and next time the will take "the best
fit"
let's say youre first request is
b.c.d.e.f.h.com than the top level is consulted...etc...

If you second request is
a.g.d.e.f.h.com than the d.e.f.h.com name server is requisted because he
learned this by the previous call.

Some of the nameservers give the ultimate answer (typically the one your
browser uses), and some give another nameserver that brings you closer to
the answer (rootservers)
Al the root servers are configured to give you a closer answer in stead of
the ultimate answer.

It is not so simple as I said in the previous section but for a good story
see:

There are no stupid questions! :)

Have fun,
Andre
