Bind 8.2.3-REL terminated with Signal 6 Abort

Hi,

I've a BIND 8.2.3-REL server handling about 5-6 million
queries a day. This is a secondary for about 50 zones. On
saturday when my load is usually quietest we had a signal
6 abort and named died. I'd thought signal 6 was a manual
abort but there is no remote access to this box except from
a hardcoded path via ssl tunnel.I've a 50 meg named.core file
can I use this to determine what happened? TIA for any ideas,
