I disagree. IMO, either postfix or sendmail 8.12 would be much
better choices, for different reasons. But then this isn't a mailing
list/newsgroup about Internet mail services.

Lukas -- If you tried to understand just the tiniest bit about
the real problem, you would discover that there is damn good reason
why over 95% of the Internet runs BIND, and that it is the *only*
nameserver program used by the root nameservers.
Luke -- if you could give us a little more detail about what
version of BIND you're running and what you see in the syslog, we
might be able to help you fix this problem.

Before you contemplate doing this, I suggest doing a search on
the archives of this mailing list for "djbdns" and "tinydns". I'm
currently working on a list of reasons why djbdns is inherently
broken, and so far I'm up to item nineteen (and I think I just
recently saw item number twenty on the list within the last couple of
days).
However, I will note that it is generally bad form to cross-post
questions to multiple mailing lists like this, especially when one of
the mailing lists is comprised almost exclusively of rabid adherents
to a particular cult of personality that is focused on a self-styled
David Koresh-like figure who is notorious for having one of the worst
egos in the business.
