DNS From Database

Hi,
We keep all files on Names Server and access them through any editor.Its very bulky to handel all these files.
Now, Instead of handling the files through any editor, is it possible to make some arrangement to keep these all records is a database,
So that making changes in Database would make changes in the appropriate files. (If possible, it would be more fast and easy to access)
Dose anyone has any idea about this concept.
