Ah.  This is exactly your problem, because you MUST specify every zone
for which the server is authoritative in /etc/named.conf.  How else
would it know which zones it is supposed to handle?  [As you can tell,
it didn't know, because it wasn't told!]

Just because machine Y is a server for one of machine X's zones does
not necessarily mean that it will be a server for any others.
