*Blush*  I didn't notice the name of the computer.  Hence my stupid [in
retrospect] comment about asterix vs. asterisk.  [Breast-beating
commences.  Mea culpa.]

I can't tell from the files you appended.  What does your resolv.conf
look like, now?
