I could be wrong.

Things could have changed, and certainly many of us are now using Open
Source versions of those tools, rather than the Bell and BSD versions I
remember.  I wouldn't have noticed, because I don't usually have this
kind of a situation.  Next time I have one of these tools open, I'll
look and see.  ;-}
