how to check the version of bind

You can do it through nslookup

$ nslookup
Default Server: ns.domainname.com
Address: ip.will.show.here
> set class=chaos
> set type=txt
> version.bind
Server:  ns.telestream.com
Address:  205.238.4.3

VERSION.BIND    text = "8.2.2-P5"
