Hey,
Yes, I posted this to GC and it gave me an error the first time about
not referencing "ns.yrip.com". That's the reason I added the line
"ns.yrip.com   IN  CNAME ns.yrip.com."
After adding that line I was not given any other errors?

What would be a better way of setting up this zone file?

PS I also have a apache name server problem. If you can help
with that it is also listed on this news group "DNS Pros"
