sendmail and dig hangs on earthlink.net

The response to an ANY query for earthlink.net exceeds 512 bytes if a full
Additional Section is included, so I suspect that your resolver is attempting
to retry the query using TCP and running into a different set of
firewall/router rules/filters for that protocol.
