request for statistics

Hi  Everybody !!
I am looking for information related to performance of  a nameserver on
Linux and Sun.

The PC configuration for the Linux server is :
PIII , 400 MHz , 64 ( or 128) MB RAM  with say 9GB HDD

And for the Sun server :
SS5 with 64 MB RAM.

Is it possible to get statistics like 'How many A queries are answered per
second when the server is free/has average load/is heavily  loaded ? ' ?

Also could u tell me about some place where I can get scripts which can fire
queries at an increasing rate so as to load the server gradually, so that
the performance can be tested in all conditions ?
