MX preferences the same

So if I my prefs are:

IN MX 5 mailhub.domain.com.au
IN MX 5 mailhub2.domain.com.au
IN MX 5 mailhub3.domain.com.au

and the MTA's are RFC compliant, a mail message sent to that domain will
arrive on all 3 machines?

I thought the purpose of having the same preference was to balance the load as
the mailhub selected is random?
