Hi my names Adam.
I'm a little stuck and wondered if someone had an idea.

I need to get bind running but can't seem to even get my ppp connection to
work.
Any ideas would be of great help.

When I try to connect to an ISP with RedHat Linux I get a NO CARRIER
responce.
I tried Redhat version 5 and then 6 and rebuilt the kernel and made sure all
the correct modules
were install. I tried serveral programs from, dip, cu, diald, minicom and
the Xwindows GUI system. I tried 2 different ISP's, checked the scripts over
and over again, read HOW-TO's. All the correct packages are installed, I'm
sure. ppp.rpm is installed and pppd is running, tcp comes up in dmesg /
boot-up and ppp0 interface is created. The modem dials out fine and responds
fine and I get a user logon and password promps. Then after negation I get
NO CARRIER. The only thing I haven't tryed another of is a modem. There is
only one. Its a Auslink 33.6 with class 1, 2 faxing abilities. The systems
works fine under NT4 with the same Hardware configuration and connects to
the ISP. I haven't had the linux system connect to the Internet before.

Cheers
Adam
