no make found.

Excellent and so logical.  Sorry to have been so thick.  But I have a new
problem.  I now get an error on make all that goes something like this

make: fatal error: don't know how to make target `.../lib/libbind.a`
Error Code 1
make: fatal error: command failed for target `install`

Your help is greatly appreciated.
