namd.conf and zone files

I think you're doing this backwards.  If you're a newbie, you probably
wouldn't be able to tell whether the differences between your configuration
and someone else's are due to your mistakes or just because of differences
between your needs.

It would probably be better if you posted your files and let experienced
people critique them.

If you don't want to do this, then there are plenty of examples in the
DNS&BIND book, which should be as helpful as someone else's own files would
be.
