Bind 8.2.2-P5 External Resolution Problem

I recently installed bind 8.2.2-P5 on a Sun Ultra running Solaris 7. It
appeared to compile fine using gcc and when I ran named it started right up
and began resolving both internal and external addresses. The problem comes
when I reboot the box. Named is automatically started during the boot
process but the machine will only resolve local hosts/domains when it first
comes up. I have to do an "ndc reload" for it to start resolving anything
external. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
