Forwarders under 8.2.2-P5 slightly broken?

I believe that you're exactly right.

I switched debugging on with and without using forwarding, and
there is a large delay when using forwarding (on the order of 60
seconds).

It seems as if directing one's resolver at the second machine,
and enabling forwarding on the first are not quite the same.

So the moral of the story is that forwarding should probably be
avoided.

Thanks to you and Jim for the great help!
