The registrar should put your host record at the appropriate place for
your domain.

People with real firewalls [not just filtering routers], typically have
an internal name server for local use behind the firewall, and an
external name server for public consumption.  If domains are shared
between the two servers, then entries will have to be duplicated.  The
internal name server would forward to the external name server any
queries that it can't answer itself.

People with filtering routers that the vendors call firewalls generally
let any queries from the outside world get into [and potentially
corrupt] their internal name server.
