Define "performance". Do you mean packet throughput? CPU utilisation?
Memory usage? Zone load time? What? Most of these things depend on
stuff you didn't tell us: the hardware platform, query rate, whether
the server processes recursive queries, wether the name server
forwards, what other processes run on the system, etc, etc,
