No. RFC 821, RFC 822, RFC 952, and RFC 1035 define separate syntaxes,
with completely different restrictions on domain names. For example,
RFC 822 allows the characters $&!#~`'^*|{}_ to appear inside domain
names, while RFC 952 does not.
