Log messages

Can someone tell me where I might find a listing of what messages in
the log file mean (If it makes a difference, I am running the following
port of BIND to NT:
BIND version named 4.9.5-Rel+-Monday-11-November-96
BIND version GregSchueman-LarryKahn-VirajBais)

I am particularly interested in messages indicating problems and errors.
