NXDOMAIN????

NXDOMAIN means that an authoritative nameserver for a particular zone
responded that the name it was queried in that zone doesn't exist. Why
does this surprise you? Obviously there is no such name as "quit" in the
root zone (at least there is no such name in the Internet root zone, and
not likely to be any such name in any internal root zone either). I'm
not sure what version of nslookup you're using; most versions will
output "Non-existent host/domain" in that situation, which is arguably
more user-friendly, but less precise, since other responses -- like
NOERROR, 0-answer responses -- could just as easily be described as
"Non-existent host/domain".

By the way, nslookup is an awful tool for troubleshooting DNS. Try
"dig" instead.
