Really? I use redhat 6.1 and haven't noticed this from any cron job. If I run
netconf then, yes, it seems to overwrite the file - I'm guessing here since
it was a long time since I ran netconf and looked at the named.conf file.
Can you say what cron job? By default I don't think the system sets anything
up for root in cron.
