If this were a known bug in 8.2.2p5, it certainly would have been fixed by
now, since it would completely cripple any sites that are running that
version.  Zone transfers are a critical feature of named -- anything that
routinely prevents them would be a disaster.

Are you saying that the slave server has the new zones in its memory, just
not in files?  I.e. if you query the slave server for one of the new zones,
you'll get an authoritative answer with the current version?  That will
happen if you don't have a "file" clause in the "zone" statement; that
means that you want the slave to perform a zone transfer, but not save it
in a permanent file (this means that it will have to redo the zone transfer
every time it restarts, so very few sites do this intentionally).

It should transfer the zones.  Since you haven't provided any details about
your configuration, there's no way for us to tell why it isn't.
