You have two choices ... change the make configs (easy to do)
to install in /usr/sbin, etc or change your init script to
call named from /usr/local.

Subject: Sun Dns and ISC Dns

Hi,

I've recently downloaded Dns-Bind v8.1.2 to replace the existing Sun version
of
Bind. The questions is after installation the /usr/sbin/in.named didn't get
replaced (I suspected), is there anyway I can test the versiion of Bind that
I'm
running.

Do I need to update in.named manually. Bind v8.1.2 installed "named" under
/usr/local/sbin, can I just overwrite in.named with named.

Regards,
Raymond Lau
