UltraDNS, a directory management service(currently focused on domain name
management), has opened it's beta site and is currently seeking beta
testers to beat on the service mercilessly. ;-)
This is not merely a couple of boxes and a GUI for BIND. The developers,
including Michael Hotz and Steve Hotz(author of "dig") have written new,
SQL-backended DNS and Whois servers from the ground up, which in
combination with a global network of distributed servers offer a number
of features and performance gains, many of which are simply not possible
with current BIND and Whois implementations. Hopefully this will raise the
bar a bit, and we will see BIND, an already awesome piece of work(many
thanks to the developers) database-backended and able to do "neat tricks"
soon. :-)
If you are interested in checking it out the URL is:

Thanks.
