Yes, that is what I did.

This is my setup

OK, now I put metta.lk in root.hints 
and named.conf with "forward only"
and "forwarder {};" 
as the system cannot be reached.
(I think I saw you advice on that to someone else)

I presume this is not an error. 
It all works fine,  15 sec to do a pop3.
