named not listening at all - was Re: named is listening on wrong device

I don't think this is such a great idea.  If you bring up the interfaces
first, clients will get a nice, quick "Connection refused" if they try to
connect in the interim.  If you bring up the clients first, they'll hang
waiting for a timeout.
