configuration of NS

Hi!

I can't install the DNS correctly, because I have no rights for some
directories. 
As my main interest lies in the resolver function, I want to use a known
DNS to send the queries to. I've tried to change the named.conf-file in
/src/conf, but without any success. Whenever I call nslookup, it sends
the queries to some predefined server with the address 0.0.0.0 .

In which file can I set a certain name server with a known IP-address
and logical name??
