can't open BIND 8.2.2 src or doc download

I have downloaded the the bind-src.tar.gz and bind-doc.tar.gz files from the
ISC site and receive the following error:

% tar tvf bind-src.tar.gz
tar: directory checksum error

any suggestions?

I was told it is and incomplete gzip file.
