Strange Bind 8 behaviour

I have had bind 8.1.2 running happily for over a year now and today
something strange happened. As I understand it bind will answer on all
available interfaces by default but today my DNS vanished from all save
one
IP address. I have ran a port scanner and only 1 IP address shows port
53 open. All other daemons run fine. I have rebooted, restarted,
reconfigured to no end. Help!

(the interfaces come up before bind starts so that is not the problem)
