bind 8.2 panic'd

Our DNS servers (bind 8.2) crashed with the following error message:

panic: critical: memcluster.c:307: INSIST(stats[size].gets != 0) failed.

Does anyone know what this problem is and if there's a patch for it.  Could
this possibly be a security-related problem?

The reason why I'm suspicious is that they've been running fine for months
now, and than all of sudden all three of them crashed one after the other.
