Hi all,

we are runnung a primary dns system with Bind 4.9.3 on AIX 4.3.2 and
a secondary dns with Bind 4.9.3 on Solaris 2.6. Both unix machines have two
netadapters: a TR-card with 5 ip-addresses and a ET-card with 1 address.
On Tokenring we have 5 subnets with 510 addresses each in our intranet.
we now have the problem that clients on a subnet are asking for dnsnames from
multihomed
hosts on the same subnet are getting a reply from the AIX-dns in the round robin
scheme,
that means every time another one (not the best choice - the one on the same
subnet would be).
The Solaris dns is working right and gives always the right answer on the same
subnet.
This behaviour from AIX is producing a lot of ip-traffic going over the router,
and we are wondering if it is a problem from bind, AIX or bind on AIX !
When named started on AIX with debug 5 level you get the information :
(ip-addresses are fictitious)

In the solaris debug file you can find a network and sortlist with all
ip-addresses !

Has enyone similar experiences with this combinations or exspecially with AIX
and Bind 4.9.x ?
Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance...
