problems with 8.2.2P5 and CNAMEs

A CNAME may not have any other records.
a CNAME says: this hostA does not really exist, it's just a nickname for
another hostB. If you want info on the hostA ask for hostB.
So it doesn't make sense to add e.g. MX records for hostB.

Look out for the "check-names" directive. Default is
    master fail
    slave warn
    response ignore

I can't see that this has changed since 8.1.2
